About acupuncture
Fine needles, tailored to you
Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice that involves the gentle insertion of very thin, single-use needles into specific points on the body. It aims to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes and restore balance — encouraging the flow of vital energy, or qi.
Our registered acupuncturists combine needling with complementary Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques such as cupping, gua sha and moxibustion, tailoring every treatment to your condition and how you’re feeling that day.
What acupuncture can help with
- Acute & chronic pain
- Lower back pain
- Neck & shoulder tension
- Stress & anxiety
- Fatigue & low energy
- Sleep problems
- Headaches & migraines
- Digestive issues
- Allergies
- Women’s health & menopause symptoms
- Bell’s Palsy & facial nerve recovery
- Immune support
Individual responses to treatment vary. Acupuncture is often used alongside — not instead of — conventional medical care.

Facial Acupuncture
Gentle needling of the face, used for facial nerve concerns such as Bell's Palsy and for overall facial wellness.
Cupping & Fire Cupping
Suction cups lift and release tissue to ease muscle tension and encourage circulation.
Gua Sha
A smooth tool is stroked along the skin to relieve tension and stagnation in the soft tissue.

Does acupuncture hurt?
It’s a common misconception that acupuncture is very painful — it isn’t. Our acupuncturists are highly skilled in the placement of needles, both in location and pressure, and we offer gentle styles such as superficial needling if you’re new or sensitive. Just let us know your preferences.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover acupuncture, and we direct bill most major providers, so you may pay less at each visit. With an ICBC claim you are automatically eligible for 12 free acupuncture sessions, and we bill ICBC directly.
What happens at my first visit?
Your acupuncturist will ask about your health history, your symptoms and what you would like to get out of treatment, then tailor the session to how you are feeling that day. Wear comfortable clothing, and let us know about any medications you take.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you are treating and how you respond. Your practitioner will suggest a plan at your first visit and review it at each follow-up.
